Most full-time professional entertainers who perform magic will have been part of a magic club. It is a great place to share your skills, and it’s fun to go to club nights and chat with other fellow magicians.

Great Britain has over 90 magic clubs for amateur and professionals that are interested in the art of magic.
How do you join a Magic Society?
Most clubs will allow you to visit some meetings before joining formally. Some clubs ask for auditions for new members. Generally, it involves performing magic for a group of members to demonstrate your knowledge and ability to perform. Each club will have their own requirements for membership.
What happens at a Magic Club?
The exact details of what happens at a Magic Club are information for its members. However, most clubs have a website with information. Alongside this will be a Facebook page, with up-to-date details. Most clubs will hold lectures, competitions and upcoming events.
Lectures can be anything from in-house members leading lectures, where existing members share and teach other members. Or guest lectures where Professional Magicians from all over the world visit and share their knowledge with members.
Which Magic Society is the oldest?
In 1905, The British Magical Society was formed one month before The Magic circle. While “The Magic Circle” is considered to be the most famous magic society, the British Magical Society, is actually older.
